  • Verification ID and certificate status
  • Certificate type and certification level
  • Training scope, modules or development areas
  • Issue date, renewal date and valid-until date

For Certified Organizations

Why a Public Verification Page Matters

A public verification page makes a certificate more credible because it can be checked. Organizations can link the verification profile from their website, badge, lobby certificate, staff certificate or employer branding page.

  • Supports employer branding and recruitment communication
  • Creates visible proof of training investment
  • Helps customers and partners understand the certified scope
  • Prevents unclear or outdated badge use
  • Connects printed certificates with online verification
For Visitors

What Visitors Should Check

Visitors should always check the exact scope of a certificate. A BLI verification record should clarify what was trained, certified, assessed or documented.

  • Is the certificate active and still valid?
  • Which organization or department is covered?
  • Which training area or language is included?
  • Which certification level was granted?
  • Does the public wording match the verified scope?
Privacy and Data Minimization

Public Verification Should Show Only What Is Necessary

Public verification is designed to confirm a certificate or seal while avoiding unnecessary personal data. Organization-level certificates usually do not need to display individual employee names. Individual staff certificates should be publicly listed only where this is appropriate and authorized.

  • Organization-level records can show company name, certificate type, scope and validity
  • Department-level records can show the department or team without listing all employees
  • Individual staff records should use limited information and only where appropriate
  • Expired, revoked or corrected records can be updated to prevent misleading badge use
  • Verification data should match the certificate and not imply broader coverage
Privacy principle: Public verification should confirm authenticity and validity while minimizing personal data and avoiding unnecessary publication of learner information.
Responsible Use

How BLI Verification Should Be Used

Public verification protects both the certified organization and the value of the BLI certificate.

Use the Exact Scope

Organizations should only claim the certificate type, training area, language, department or level that is shown in the verification profile.

Keep the Badge Current

Expired, suspended or revoked certificates should not be displayed as active. Renewal should be completed before continued public use.

Avoid Misleading Claims

A BLI training certificate should not be presented as a government license, hotel star rating, official exam result or public authority accreditation.

It is a page used to verify a BLI-issued certificate, badge, seal or Certified Partner status through a unique verification ID or QR code.

What can be verified?

Public verification can confirm Certified Partner status, Workforce Development Seals, Continuing Education Seals, department certificates, staff certificates and selected certificates of participation.

Does verification mean official government accreditation?

No. BLI verification confirms the stated BLI certificate, training, assessment or seal scope. It does not automatically represent public authority accreditation, statutory licensing, official exam certification or government recognition.

What does “Active” mean?

Active means that the certificate or seal is currently valid within the stated scope and validity period shown in the verification record.

What if a verification ID is not found?

The ID may be incorrect, not public, expired, not yet published or not issued by BLI. You can contact BLI by email for manual verification.

Can individual staff certificates be verified publicly?

Yes, where appropriate and authorized. BLI aims to minimize personal data and publish individual information only where suitable.

Can a certificate be revoked?

Yes. BLI may revoke or suspend a certificate, badge or seal if the criteria are no longer met, the certificate is misused or the public wording is misleading.
